Property Management and Development

Reliance Environmental, Inc. assists all facets of the real estate industry from property managers and developers to land preparation and construction companies. We team with sellers, buyers or prospectors in safeguarding their interests and investments from potential or known environmental liabilities. The time for discovering a potential environmental liability is not after you acquire a property. By involving Reliance early in the process, issues such as the presence of unknown underground storage tanks, previous detrimental land use or the presence of contaminated soils/groundwater, can be understood, planned for and factored into a development plan, thereby avoiding unwanted surprises. Keeping site development activities on schedule is essential in preventing cost overruns and delays. Additionally, if a construction crew makes an unwanted discovery, REI can respond quickly and decisively to keep things moving while looking out for your bottom line and protecting your interests.

Retail Petroleum

From national and regional shipping companies to truck fueling and maintenance facilities to rail yards and sidings, REI understands the transportation industry and the environmental issues particular to it. Environmental compliance, storage tank management, release response, regulatory interaction and negotiation, closing environmental areas of concern in step with budgetary/construction planning, SPCC concerns or storm water best management practices/training, Reliance Environmental, Inc. has the experience to assist your firm and navigate through the regulations.

Quarry & Stone Supply Industry

REI and its associates have provided environmental consulting services to quarries and concrete plants for over two decades. From storage tank closures, petroleum release management and SPCC Plans to storm water permitting, State Fund procurement (for petroleum releases) and site acquisition assistance, Reliance has worked closely with facility representatives to identify and prioritize issues. In these economic times, down-sizing of compliance/permitting personnel is common. We can act as an extension of your staff to keep facilities compliant, attend meetings and provide updates. Additionally, REI provides Geographic Information Systems (GIS) services which can greatly assist small engineering/compliance departments with a large network of sites to manage. GIS is an interactive and updatable tool that provides detailed information for any site such as storage tank location, capacities, dates of installation, registration dates with reminders for compliance deadlines – all a mouse click away.

Engineering & Architectural Firms

Reliance seeks opportunities to utilize its experience to partner with your firm and/or assemble a winning team to prepare bid packages and satisfy a client’s need. From school districts to municipalities to private land development projects, REI can help you present a complete package or simply assist with a task. Since projects can sometimes require the services of several disciplines (e.g. surveyors, engineers, geologists, attorneys), Reliance, through established associations and relationships, has assembled a team of professionals to meet any need, manage the project, and seamlessly achieve the desired goal.

Insurance Industry

Reliance personnel have extensive experience with insurance-related environmental projects. Whether contracted directly by the insurance company, an adjuster, or the policy holder, we respond quickly and professionally. Reliance will not “over respond” to a situation, which can add layers of unnecessary cost to a claim. From indoor/outdoor storage tank failures at residential properties to surface releases from vehicle accidents to storm-related issues, we are equipped to assess a claim, provide a clean-up estimate, perform the clean-up or simply manage the needed activities. The goal is typically to alleviate uncertainly for policy holders and secure closure for a claim while satisfying applicable regulations.

Lending Institutions

Reliance Environmental, Inc.’s trained assessment staff provides ASTM Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessments which include historical databases, environmental lien searches and site walkthroughs. Phase 1 reports will identify recognized environmental concerns (RECs), historic environmental concerns (HRECs) and provide recommendations for additional investigation if warranted. REI also provides quick and effective Phase 2 investigations to delineate/define an identified concern or remediate an issue all together. When a full Phase 1 is not required, we can perform a cost-effective transaction screen to quickly review a site and provide a client with an acceptable level of security. Additionally, we can package several sites to provide an economy of savings on any property assessment-related project.
